8 weeks, Nov. 3 - Jan 12 (skipping Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve)
Original band classes consist of writing original music, collaborating via Zoom, and recording using BandLab, an online collaboration tool similar to GarageBand. We’ll meet for 8 weeks to complete 1-2 original songs (depending on the progress of the class.) We will discuss the mood, atmosphere, song arrangement, particular key compatibility and tones of the parts we will be focusing on.
If you have a preference for particular band members or a particular genre you'd like to focus on, mention that in the form and we’ll make sure to consider that when placing you. Otherwise, we'll match you with the best possible group of like-minded womxn, based on the answers you gave us.

In-Person Classes
Now offering classes 6-week songwriting classes for beginner and intermediate songwriters, taught by Cass Brostad. Classes start the week of November 2nd (skipping Thanksgiving week), and will be held virtually via Zoom. To register, fill out the form at the signup link. Payment must be sent via Venmo (@femmerock) or PayPal (@reecebeats) to fully confirm your spot.
Here's how it works: depending on your band's preferences, we'll usually meet over Zoom to go over the song and answer any questions. Parts will be learned and recorded using either BandLab (a collaborative recording tool, similar to GarageBand) or Acapella App (collaborative video). Most bands communicate progress and updates via Facebook Messenger or group text.
By the end of the session, you'll come away with either recording(s) of your tracks, Brady Bunch-style video(s), or brand new original song(s)... and of course accountability along the way to help you create a collaborative masterpiece!
